ROLAND M. MURPHY ANNUAL EDUCATION AWARD
In 1963, Roland M. Murphy was instrumental in organizing the “Home Plan Competition” sponsored by the Brown County Home Builders Association. The contest was a way of encouraging students to pursue an education in the building industry.
The Brown County Home Builders Association, in an effort to pay tribute to Roland Murphy and his immense contribution to our community, has elected to name a $1,000 Education Award in his memory. The winner of the $1,000 Roland M. Murphy Annual Education Award will be determined from the entrants in the Home Plan Contest with the Education Award given after completion of the first semester in post high school education and enrollment in the second semester.
Student names must be submitted by an instructor from an area high school. Only names of graduating seniors will be accepted. The award will be distributed to a student pursing a degree in the area of Architectural Design. The award will be presented after completion award will be distributed to a student pursing a degree in the area of Architectural Design. The award will be presented after completion of the first semester of post high school education. Proof of enrollment in the second semester and submission of Grade Point Average (GPA) of the first semester must also be submitted. A letter of recommendation from the submitting teacher must accompany the application as well as a letter from the student stating their need and why they feel they qualify for the education award.

2026 Outdoor Vibes Contest
Win $250+ cash for your school by entering the Outdoor Vibes Contest! We are asking students to build an outdoor project that everyone will enjoy! An Outdoor Vibes Project is creating a space for people or animals to gather, whether it be to eat, play, or participate in a hobby together. BE CREATIVE! Your projects will be seen by THOUSANDS of consumers who attend the Green Bay Home Show held on February 20-22, 2026, at the Resch Expo. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite project and even place bids to make the Outdoor Vibes Project the newest addition to their home. Bids may be placed online with each project going to its highest bidder. Bid winners will be responsible to pick up their Outdoor Vibes Project at the completion of the contest. Proceeds from the sale of the Outdoor Vibes Projects will support the BCHBA educational and Tools for Schools programs.
